This Shredded Buffalo Chicken Salad is a Whole30 Friendly, easy, and delicious chicken salad.
It is perfect for meal prep and can be served a couple different ways depending on what you feel like.
You can make the chicken ahead of time in the instant pot, on the stove top, or use shredded rotisserie chicken.
If you are doing a whole30 make sure the brands you are using are whole30 compliant. If you aren’t concerned with that feel free to use any of your favorite sauces!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups shredded chicken
- I make shredded chicken in the instant pot to be sure it's whole30 compliant. You could also use rotisserie chicken or canned chicken.
- 3 tablespoons mild or medium buffalo sauce
- I like the brand The New Primal for whole30
- 1 tablespoon ranch dressing
- check for whole30 compliant brands like The New Primal or Primal Kitchen
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- look for one made with olive oil or avocado oil
- ½ tsp onion salt
- ½ tsp dried chives
- ½ tsp celery seed
- ¼ tsp dried dill
optional additions:
- diced red onion
- chopped celery
- shredded carrots
substitutions:
no celery seed? use 1 stalk celery diced
no chives? add green onion
How to make:
1. Cook chicken using your favorite method ( I love using the instant pot!) and shred the chicken.
2. Mix with buffalo sauce, ranch, and spices. Allow to set for about 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
3. Serve in butter lettuce as a wrap if making whole30 shredded buffalo chicken or in a regular wrap if not!
Serving options:
Over a bed of arugula with red onion and an extra drizzle of ranch
In a wrap of romaine or butter lettuce
If not whole30 serve in a tortilla wrap of choice
Curious how to make shredded chicken in the instant pot?
- Add 1 cup of chicken broth to instant pot, 3-4 chicken breasts and pressure cook on high for 11 minutes.
- Quick release steam and then shred chicken with 2 forks or using a handheld mixer.

Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 3 tbsp buffalo sauce
- 1 tbsp ranch dressing
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- ½ tsp onion salt
- ½ tsp dried chives
- ½ tsp celery seed
- ½ tsp dried dill
Instructions
- Mix shredded chicken with buffalo sauce, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing.
- Mix in dry spices and stir thoroughly.
- Allow to set for 10 minutes in the fridge and serve.
